Resize dimensions or reduce file size?
Resolution controls the width and height of your video. Quality presets control the target bitrate. Use both for smaller uploads, or keep the original frame and choose Balanced for everyday sharing. Reframing changes the aspect ratio; it does not automatically follow a moving subject.

How do I compress a video online?
Choose a video up to 50 MB, select Smaller file, Balanced or Higher quality, then click Create MP4. FrameDrop processes it on your device and provides an MP4 download. A lower bitrate can reduce file size, but smaller output is not guaranteed.
How do I resize a video to 1080p, 720p or 480p?
Choose a resolution under Resize & reframe. It sets maximum output dimensions, with portrait and landscape orientation respected. Smaller source videos are not enlarged. Original frame keeps your aspect ratio; choosing a new frame shape changes it.
Can I reframe a landscape video to vertical or square?
Yes. Select Vertical 9:16, Square 1:1 or Widescreen 16:9. Fill frame crops the edges; choose Center, Left, Right, Top or Bottom to position the crop. Keep whole video adds black bars instead of cutting off content. The crop position is fixed for the entire clip, without automatic subject tracking.
Can I preview the video crop before exporting?
Supported browser formats show a local framing preview. It illustrates the crop or black bars. Some formats can be decoded by FFmpeg even when the browser cannot preview them. The finished MP4 preview shows the actual result.
Are my videos uploaded, and is the tool free?
Video processing happens in your browser. FFmpeg runtime files are downloaded from a CDN, but your video is not uploaded automatically. If you choose Share finished video, the file is handed to your device’s share menu for the app you select. This free demo accepts files up to 50 MB. Google AdSense may display ads. Which video formats can I convert to MP4?
You can try MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and other formats supported by the bundled FFmpeg runtime. Export is H.264 MP4 with AAC audio when audio is present. Codec support and available browser memory can limit which videos work.
